GOAL 1: REMOVE BARRIERS TO ATTENDANCE
Cause of truancy can be positioned within four major categories. These categories include family factors, school factors, economic influences and student variables. This program is designed to not only identify the causes, but to also address them.
GOAL 2: IMPROVE THE STUDENT AND FAMILY’S COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION
Demonstrate consistent long-term improvement in school attendance. As it is the court’s belief that once a student is able to attend school regularly their grades will improve.
GOAL 3: PROVOKE POSITIVE CHANGE IN THE STUDENTS
Attending school regularly allows students to gain knowledge and skills to be successful. Students who fail to attend school regularly are at risk of unwanted pregnancy, unemployment, being victimized or substance abuse to name a few.
GOAL 4: CONNECT STUDENTS TO SERVICES & PROGRAMS THAT WILL IMPROVE THE INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY LIVES
The program will include a strong service component to provide the students and their families with appropriate support.
